Griswold's Outdoor Lighting is growing quickly, and we're looking for motivated, dependable independent contractors to install permanent outdoor lighting on residential homes throughout Southeast Michigan.

No permanent lighting experience? No problem! We'll teach you how to install our Gemstone lighting systems.

We're looking for people who are comfortable working with their hands, have experience using ladders and tools, take pride in doing quality work, and can solve problems independently.

Whether you're an experienced exterior contractor or someone with strong hands-on skills looking for a new opportunity, we'd love to hear from you.

Compensation

• Starting at $3.00 per linear foot , with opportunities to earn up to $4.00 per foot based on experience, project complexity, reliability, professionalism, and leadership.
• Project-based pay rather than hourly.
• Training provided on Gemstone permanent lighting installation.
• Opportunities for higher compensation as skills and experience develop.
• Additional opportunities for contractors who can lead installations or provide qualified crew capacity.
• Ongoing projects available based on customer demand and contractor availability.

Rates are based on individual project arrangements. Two-person crew rates may differ from solo installation rates.

What You'll Need

• Your own reliable truck or van.
• Your own ladders and basic installation tools.
• Comfort working on ladders, roofs, and around rooflines.
• General liability insurance or willingness to obtain required coverage before beginning work.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Professional communication and customer service.
• Dependability and pride in your work.

What You'll Be Doing

• Installing permanent outdoor lighting along rooflines, soffits, fascia, and trim.
• Learning proper Gemstone installation techniques.
• Completing clean, professional installations.
• Troubleshooting installation challenges.
• Protecting customer property and cleaning up after each project.
• Communicating with our team about project progress and completion.

Experience That Would Be Helpful

You do not need permanent lighting experience.

Experience in any of these areas is a plus:

• Roofing, gutters, siding, or exterior trim.
• Christmas or holiday lighting.
• Construction or remodeling.
• Low-voltage electrical work.
• General exterior home services
• Other hands-on trades requiring ladders and tools.

We care more about your work ethic, reliability, attitude, and ability to learn than whether you've installed permanent lights before.
