About the Position

Electrophysiology Physician - Locum Opportunity

Description

We are seeking a Board-Certified Electrophysiologist for a 36-week locum assignment providing Electrophysiology and General Cardiology coverage. This opportunity is designed for an experienced physician who can manage advanced EP procedures, inpatient and outpatient cardiology services, hospital rounding, admissions, and consultations.

The assignment is available due to coverage gaps and offers an ASAP start upon credentialing . The role includes Electrophysiology coverage (0.5 FTE) and General Cardiology coverage (0.25 FTE) . Both hospital and clinic privileges are required for EP coverage.

About the Facility

• Outpatient clinic setting with hospital-based responsibilities
• Adult patient population
• 247-bed facility
• Both inpatient and outpatient Electrophysiology/Cardiology services
• EP coverage requires both hospital and clinic privileges
• General Cardiology coverage requires hospital privileges
• Average patient volume:
  • General Cardiology: approximately 8-10 patients/day
• Support staff available, including APC support Monday–Saturday as needed
• Epic EMR system
• Travel support available with caps

Compensation:

• Call includes 4 hours of gratis time

Job Responsibilities

• Provide Electrophysiology and General Cardiology coverage
• Perform full-spectrum EP procedures, including:
  • Pacemaker procedures
  • Ablations
  • Advanced electrophysiology cases
• Perform General Cardiology procedures, including:
  • Cardioversions
  • Transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE)
• Complete hospital rounding and admissions
• Provide inpatient and outpatient cardiology consultations
• Manage adult cardiology patients
• Participate in scheduled call coverage
• Provide weeknight call coverage and potential 24-hour weekend call coverage as needed
• Collaborate with APC support staff and cardiology teams
• Maintain accurate documentation using Epic EMR

Qualifications

• MD or DO
• Board Certified in Cardiology
• Board Certified in Electrophysiology
• Active Washington medical license required
• IMLC accepted
• Willing to license depending on start date
• Minimum of 1 year of experience required
• ACLS certification required
• BLS certification required
• NRP certification required
• Epic EMR experience required
• COVID-19 vaccination required (no exemptions)

Required Clinical Documentation:

• Applicant must provide documentation of cardiovascular disease services representative of the scope and complexity of requested privileges within the previous 24 months
• EP applicants must provide documentation of 100 electrophysiology cases representative of the requested privileges performed within the previous 24 months

Working Hours

• Start Date: ASAP upon credentialing
• Assignment Duration: 36 weeks
• Schedule: 5 days/week structure
• Standard shift:
  • 10-hour day shifts
  • 7:00 AM-5:00 PM
• General Cardiology coverage:
  • 1 week per month
• Call responsibilities:
  • Approximately 2 weeknight calls during a one-week stretch
  • Potential 24-hour weekend call as needed
• Holiday coverage may include:
  • New Year's Day
